Solution: Installation of double door Full Height Turnstiles (FHT-TL-249) integrated with Biometric Time & Attendance device (X990) at the entrance lane of VelTech Institute’s boys’ hostel. With this solution, the details of every person stepping in and stepping out of the hostel building are recorded. Access can be granted or denied based on RFID and fingerprint authentication.

We recently installed 3 Full Height Turnstiles (FHT-TL-249) with double doors at the entrance of their boys’ hostel building. The solution is aimed at restricting access to unauthorized persons and day scholars from entering the hostel premises.

This implementation is going to ensure discipline in the college and hostel campus and also provide the management with a centralized approach to monitor visitors from any remote location. These turnstiles come with optional integration of RFID, fingerprint, password, and bar/QR code-based recognition. Acoustic Magnetic Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS AM) is a technology that prevents shoplifting in various retail stores. eSSL combines the advanced EAS technology with the market management system and forms sophisticated technical defense. The anti-theft systems are developed to have a high detection rate with extremely low false alarm and a stylish appearance. Its working principle is, the transmitters fitted to antenna send low-frequency waves and form a testing area. When a non-deactivated tag composed of non-crystal sheet metal enters the testing area the interfering signal it brings will be received by the receiver. This results in the generation of an alarm from the system.

Under normal conditions, tags on the commodities bought will be deactivated or removed by the salesperson after payment is complete. In such cases, no alarm will be triggered while passing the testing area. System configurations vary based on the range and frequency of signals.

We recently installed 10 Tripod Turnstiles (ET1000A) at the entrance of their 34-acre facility. The solution is aimed at generating timely attendance and log reports of 7000 workers by eliminating manual attendance entries which are prone to proxy records.

This initiative will not only ensure punctuality among employees but will also provide the management with a centralized approach to monitor employee attendance from any remote location. These turnstiles come with optional integration of face, RFID, fingerprint, password, and bar/QR code-based recognition. A counter also displays the number of movements that have occurred in and out of the lanes. The standard capacity of the ET1000A turnstile is 35 persons per minute.

Maintaining attendance records of workers at the CNT (Construction and Technical) division of Samsung India was a problem that we addressed for our client recently.

PROJECT FOR TRACKING RAILWAY CLEANING STAFF

vdp_0eSSL’s handheld device (PT100) was used in tracking and managing cleaning stuff to ensure scheduled work carried out without any hassle.

Customer: Mumbai Railway Department

Challenges: Trains need to be cleaned and serviced to maintain hygiene. Cleanliness and sanitation at trains coaches and toilets were not properly maintained. The housekeeping staff for cleaning of coaches was not satisfactory and sometimes they skip their job. Lack of efficient control on monitoring the cleaning staff had adversely affected maintenance of sanitation and hygiene on trains. The deficiencies in maintaining cleanliness at stations and in trains and to take care of unscheduled demand of cleaning by passengers in running trains, led Mumbai division of Central Railway keep a tap on its housekeeping staff and cleanliness on a running train during morning and during evening slots.

eSSL’s Solution: eSSL deployed RFID based tracking system in order to ensure cleaning on scheduled time. It has already been started on train no. 12133/12134 Mumbai-Mangalore Express, 12137/12138 Mumbai-Ferozpur Punjab Mail, 12163/12164 Dadar-Chennai Egmore Express and 11019/11020 Mumbai-Bhubaneshwar Konark Express. Soon, this solution will be adopted by other units of Indian Railways for their trains.
The RFID tags are fixed at each compartment in the passenger’s sitting area itself near mirrors, which will ensure the visible presence of housekeeper to the travelling passengers. The user’s process is very simple- they have created route for each employee defining the every checkpoint at each coach wall near to Mirror and after carrying out every scheduled morning/evening cleaning, the housekeeper will have to sense-read the fixed RFID tag of the compartment using a portable electronic handheld device (PT100) which will record the sensing time of tag. On completion of trip of train, the report of the data downloaded from the handheld device will confirm if each of the compartments was attended twice a day for scheduled cleaning.

Result: Using RFID and handheld device eased the process of getting work carried out in two steps. They are able to track the actual time taken by the cleaning staff and in orderly fashion properly and also prevent duplication of work.
